Portable SCSI PC Card Reader/Writer

The Microtech PCD-40 has been engineered with the needs of the digital photographer as a priority. When used in a typical digital photography application, the use of a PC Card reader to transfer images from a full "digital film" card is at least 100 times faster than using the built-in serial connection found on most digital cameras. Also, by using a separate reader, the camera is not required to be tethered to the computer during image transfer. In other applications the reader/writer can be used as a very convenient method of transferring large data files from a notebook or handheld PC to a desktop computer.

The PCD-40 incorporates many of the same features as our highly acclaimed Digital PhotoAlbum and popular Digital PhotoAlbum•p. Measuring only 5.75" x 4.00" x 0.75", the new device has a single Type III card slot (10.5mm) compatible with all ATA storage devices and SRAM cards. In addition, CompactFlash™, SmartMedia™, MemoryStick™, and the new IBM microdrive CF+ cards can be used with available low cost adapters.

The included SCSI "T" cable allows the reader to be connected anywhere in a SCSI chain with up to a total of 7 devices that can be connected. The device is available with US/Japan or European CE standard wall mount power adapter.
