We applied this expertise to produced the first USB serial adapter for Mac OS in October 1998. 

Description: Connects two serial devices to the USB port on your Mac. Designed for use with modems, graphics tablets, PDA's, cameras, and most serial printers including Apple Stlye Writers and HP Desk Writers. Macworld Magazine calls it ..... " the serial salvation".

Features :   USB Twin Serial Adapter

• Provides two RS-422 ports for connection to serial devices .      

• Has been qualified by Apple, Avid and others for connection to video decks. 

• Draws its power from the USB connection -- a power adapter is not required. 

• Supports use of multiple adapters on one Mac.

• Compatibility For use with RS-232 and RS-422 serial devices including modems, graphics tablets, video decks, serial PDAs, serial printers, GPS devices, and medical/scientific instrumentation. Does not support AppleTalk/Local Talk. 

• Some serial devices, including many serial printers, do not have drivers for Mac OS X and therefore will not operate under Mac OS X. Check with the serial device manufacturer to confirm that Mac OS X is supported. (For Epson Stylus Printers, use our USB Parallel Printer Adapter if running Mac OS X.)
